merino wool felt products can be washed in a washing machine on a wool programme using wool wash cycle at 30°C and a neutral re-fattening eco-detergent without any fabric softener and bleach. spin-drying at about 600. if necessary pull a little into form/shape and slowly air-dry the wool felt objects on a flat surface on top of a towel. use a steam iron with moderately warm temperature and gently steam the felt to smooth the surface.
buranfelt recommends machine washing partly! the wool felt can shrink approximately 5-10% due to the rotating drum and movement which is comparable to the milling process during felt production. furthermore loss of the edge sharpness on the wool felt products. the edges are rounded off and a possible change of the smooth surface towards a wrinkled surface.
merino wool felt products can be dry-cleaned in an extra specialized cleaning-store. buranfelt does not recommend dry-cleaning! through this process the protective grease layer is damaged or even completely removed from the very fine merino wool fibers.
finally, the merino wool felt product is not destroyed. however, please note these possible and inevitable changes. these changes are no reason for complaint and return!
